I, Rebecca Tobias, owner of Nose to Toes Grooming, had the privilege of attending the Pet First Aid course with my staff in 2022. The course was incredibly informative and valuable, and I believe every pet owner and professional should have this essential knowledge. Pet First Aid training is a must for anyone who owns or works with animals.
Inspired by the course, I pursued further certification and became a Pet First Aid instructor in 2023. I am now excited to offer this training to my clients, pet parents, and other professionals in the pet care industry.
About the Course
Walks 'N' Wags has been offering Pet First Aid Courses since 2003, originally developed in 1993 by Nurse Ethne Dickinson and a team of veterinary professionals. The course has been extensively updated with input from veterinarians and pet health experts, with the latest edition, featuring custom illustrations, released in 2017.
Walks 'N' Wags is the longest-running Pet First Aid program in Canada, recognized internationally. The course covers first aid and safety for both cats and dogs and is applicable to all pet owners. IAABC and PSI members can earn CEU credits upon completion.
Participants receive a comprehensive, illustrated manual, a certificate upon passing, and hands-on experience working with live animals. Instructors come from diverse backgrounds, including emergency personnel and animal specialists.
